Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has outlined a series of measures to tackle air pollution ahead of winter, including a ‘No PUC, No Fuel’ rule, doubled parking charges and restrictions on older vehicles entering the national capital. From 1 November 2026, vehicles below Bharat Stage VI emission standards coming from outside Delhi will be barred from entering, with exemptions for CNG and electric vehicles and emergency services. The government has also announced a complete ban on demolition and outdoor construction activities from 1 November to 31 December, alongside a 50% work-from-home requirement for government and private offices during the specified period.

Sirsa claims Delhi has recorded 214 days of good and moderate air quality in 2026, describing it as a 12-year record when the COVID year is excluded. He also highlighted an 11-point Air Pollution Mitigation Plan involving nearly 30 agencies, alongside long-term measures targeting road dust, vehicle emissions and polluting industries.
