In just 11 years as Prime Minister, Mr Modi has been conferred with 29 international awards, making him the most globally celebrated Indian leader. In December, the Sultan of Oman awarded him the prestigious ‘Order of Oman’ for his exceptional contribution to India–Oman relations, days after Ethiopia conferred its highest civilian honour, ‘The Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia’.
