PM Modi Proposes 10-Point BRICS Reform Roadmap For Global Governance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed 10 Global Governance Reform proposals through BRICS, focusing on three key areas — representation, responsiveness and rule-making. He called for time-bound negotiations on UN Security Council reform and said voting power, leadership positions and policy priorities in global financial institutions should reflect today’s economic realities. PM Modi also proposed a Seafarers Emergency Support Network to improve distress alerts, medical assistance, family communication and evacuation support. On rule-making, he stressed the need to make the Global South a rule shaper rather than a rule taker in emerging areas such as AI, cyberspace, outer space, biotechnology and critical technologies.
