PM Modi Proposes BRICS Reform Roadmap, Calls For Global Governance Reset

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed a new and ambitious agenda for BRICS, calling for stronger continuity and implementation mechanisms as the grouping enters its next 20 years. He suggested a BRICS continuity and implementation mechanism through the Troika, along with a secure digital repository to track decisions, timelines and implementation status. PM Modi also called for reforms in global governance, arguing that the Global South remains on the front row of global crises but in the back row of decision-making. He proposed developing 10 Global Governance Reform proposals focused on representation, responsiveness and rule-making, with the aim of creating a BRICS reform roadmap by the next summit.
