The project is expected to involve around $18 billion in investment, with the plant projected to produce up to 10 million tons of steel annually and create thousands of jobs. Trump described the project as a major investment in U.S. manufacturing, saying advanced steelmaking technology would be used to produce steel in the U.S. for domestic consumption as well as exports.
