Non-subsidised LPG cylinder price hiked by Rs 26.50
The price of non-subsidised cooking gas (LPG) cylinders was hiked on Thursday by Rs 26.50 per cylinder.

The 14.2-kg liquid petroleum gas cylinder, which consumers purchase beyond their annual entitlement of six units at subsidised rates , will now cost Rs 922, up from Rs 895.50 in Delhi, according to the Indian Oil Corporation.

A subsidised cooking gas (LPG) cylinder in Delhi costs Rs 410.42.

The government had in September put a cap of six on subsidised cooking gas cylinders per household per year. Additional requirements have to be met at market rates.

Congress-ruled states have raised the subsidy limit from six to nine cylinders.

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) revise rates of non-subsidised LPG on the 1st of every month based on the average imported cost and rupee-US dollar exchange rate.

Correspondingly, the price of a commercial 14.2-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi will go up to Rs 1,105.5, while for the 19-kg unit the price would be Rs 1,551.

The prices of non-subsidised 14.2-kg cylinder and those of commercial cylinders of the same size vary because the government allows customs and excise duty exemption to subsidised LPG used solely for domestic consumption.
