Monsoon arrives in Kerala
Monsoon rains have arrived over Kerala, though it has been delayed by a
few days. The Meteorological Department had earlier forecast that it
would hit the Kerala coast by June 1.

South-west monsoon is crucial for Indian economy, as around 60 per cent of the cultivable lands are rain-fed.
The Meteorological Department said the monsoonal flows are strong and Kerala and parts of south Karnataka will continue to get rains for the next two to three days, adding that the conditions are favourable for further advance of monsoon.
