  • OnePlus may have confirmed that the affordable Buds Z are coming.
  • According to the teaser, the Buds Z earbuds will have silicone ear tips.
  • OnePlus has an event scheduled for October 14 in India.

OnePlus Buds Z are finally coming. The company has confirmed "new world of sound" is coming with a teaser image on Twitter, which, sort of, hints at the Buds Z. There is also a link that lands at the OnePlus 8T launch event site, which means the Buds Z might see the light of day on October 14.

The image shows an in-ear silicone tip, which hints at a different design that the Buds Z might have. The OnePlus Buds have a rather run-of-the-mill open-ear plastic design, but the Buds Z will likely go for a snug fit while ensuring passive noise cancellation, thanks to the ear tips. This difference between the Buds and Buds Z looks like the one between the Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro.

There has been only so much information available about the OnePlus Buds Z. We are not sure whether there will be active noise cancellation on these earbuds, but presumably, there will not be. According to leaks, the OnePlus Buds Z will be an affordable version of the Buds, which points to the removal of one or the other feature to align with the price. Moreover, if we are assuming it right, the silicone ear tips will make up for the lack of ANC using the environment isolation by providing a seal.

According to a previous leak shared by Ishan Agarwal on Twitter, OnePlus is planning to launch as many as five products at the October 14 event OnePlus 8T Pro being not one of them. The OnePlus 8T is certainly launching but the rest could include the Buds Z wireless earbuds, a OnePlus smartwatch that has been in the rumour mill, and a OnePlus power bank. For people wondering why OnePlus 8T Pro has met that sort of fate, you can read what OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has to say about that here.

OnePlus' October 14 event is going to be packed with gadgets and is surely not the one to miss. But we expect more information to pour in ahead of the final show.
