From bottles to our pockets, Coca-Cola, the soft drink company, is now set to dominate the smartphone segment. The company will reportedly foray into the smartphone market with its very own Coca-Cola phone. For soft drink guzzlers, Coca-cola is one of the most popular and favored brands. It has remained the undisputed king of the market for decades but now the brand is planning to explore other areas too. As per leaks, the smartphone will be launched in India in March 2023.
The reports about Coca-Cola venturing into the smartphone market were first shared by noted tipster Mukul Sharma. He shared the picture of the upcoming device, which shows it to have dual cameras and a red accent, likely in reference to the brand's iconic red color. He captioned the image saying, "Can confirm that the device is launching this quarter in India. Coca-Cola is collaborating with a smartphone brand for this new phone," Sharma, however, did not reveal the name of the brand which will help the Coca-Cola-themed smartphone launched in India.
It is a rather unusual move by Coca-Cola, as the company is primarily known for its beverage production and not for its technological products. However, it's not uncommon for companies to branch out into new markets, and the mobile phone industry is a lucrative one.
The leaked image is indicative of a typical Realme design even though Sharma kept the name of the company under wraps. The design of the smartphone bears a strong resemblance to the Realme 10 Pro 4G. The phone also features a dual-phone camera sensor on the rear, along with an LED flash. The rear panel of the phone features the same banner as the Coca-Cola drink.
The tipster has not revealed the specs of the Coca-Cola phone, but it's likely that the company will aim to target the budget and mid-range segments of the market. This would make sense, as Coca-Cola is a well-known and trusted brand in India, but it may not have the same level of appeal to high-end smartphone buyers.
It's also worth noting that this is not the first time a non-tech company has ventured into the smartphone market. Other examples include Razer, which is primarily a gaming company, and Fairphone, which is focused on ethical and sustainable production. Both companies have released smartphones with mixed success.
