While FMCG and pharma continue to show limited upside, the cement sector is emerging as a potential long-term opportunity, according to market experts. After nearly a decade of muted capacity additions and sluggish growth, the dynamics are beginning to change. Cement cycles are driven more by supply constraints than demand, and adding new capacity is becoming increasingly difficult due to limited limestone availability and long project timelines. At the same time, India’s sustained infrastructure push and a gradually broadening housing cycle could lift volumes meaningfully. Sector consolidation has further strengthened the outlook, with the top players now controlling a majority share in regional markets, improving pricing power and stability. With these factors aligning, cement stocks are once again on the radar for long-term investors, even as near-term exposure remains limited.
