Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s no-holds-barred attack on Congress in the Lok Sabha over the north-south financial divide has invited the expected reaction from Congress. Congress MP D K Suresh, who had ignited a ferocious debate with his “separate country” statement, claimed that he just raised the voice of Karnataka. He stood by his claim that south Indian states were facing discrimination. His brother and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar also echoed similar sentiments, saying the party was just raising the voice of the oppressed in Karnataka.
