
Flash floods triggered by a devastating cloudburst in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, have claimed at least two lives, with seven more still missing. Landslides and overflowing rivers have caused widespread disruption, blocking the Yamunotri Highway at multiple points and bringing the Char Dham Yatra to a halt. Around 400-500 pilgrims are currently stranded. Rescue operations are ongoing, with NDRF teams moving vulnerable people to safety. The IMD has issued a Red Alert for heavy rainfall across the state.
