India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar outlined how emerging technologies and changing warfare are reshaping global defence cooperation. Speaking on partnerships involving India, Europe, Finland and the UAE, Jaishankar said modern conflicts, from Ukraine to the Gulf region have demonstrated the growing importance of drones, missiles and advanced defence technologies. He highlighted India's recently concluded trade and security partnerships with Europe and pointed to ongoing talks on a Security of Information Agreement that could open European defence contracts to Indian companies. Jaishankar emphasised that future defence cooperation will combine traditional military platforms with next-generation technologies, creating new opportunities for strategic and industrial partnerships.
