Heavy rainfall in the National Capital Region has triggered severe waterlogging at the newly inaugurated Noida International Airport in Jewar. Videos circulating on social media show rainwater pooled along the connecting route between the terminal and parking area, forcing passengers to wade through flooded stretches. Airport ground staff quickly deployed drainage equipment to clear the accumulation within 30 minutes. Built at a cost of thousands of crores and inaugurated in March 2026, the greenfield airport now faces sharp criticism over its drainage infrastructure and monsoon readiness, though authorities maintain flight operations and systems remain completely unaffected.
