An explosive investigation by the India Today Special Investigation Team (SIT) has uncovered a massive counterfeit and expired cosmetics racket operating across Delhi NCR hubs like Rohini, Azad Nagar, and Shahdara. Capitalizing on viral Instagram reels promising "90% off" on premium brands like Cetaphil, Nivea, MCaffeine, and WOW, these underground networks buy bulk expired stocks from warehouses. The SIT investigation revealed that operators chemically erase original manufacturing details and paste altered stickers with fake expiry dates, pushing toxic, outdated chemical products directly to unsuspecting salon owners and retail consumers.
