Vandana Sikka, who had been leading the Infosys Foundation USA quit as its Chairperson on Tuesday, days after her husband and former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka submitted his resignation.
Infosys Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Bengaluru-headqaurtered IT services company.
"As I reflect on the last 2.5 years of my journey leading Infosys Foundation USA, I feel an immense sense of pride and joy at what we have accomplished," Sikka wrote in a blog post on Medium.
Today, I am writing this email to let you know that I have decided to move on from my role as the chairperson of Infosys Foundation USA, Sikka added.
Vandana Sikka holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and was invited by the IT major to handle the foundation's affairs in the US.
After months of war of words between the founders and the management at IT major Infosys, CEO Vishal Sikka submitted his resignation earlier this month.
Sikka also suggested that the work at Infy was suffering due to the mood that had been created by the constant criticisms against him.
"This continuous drumbeat of distractions and negativity over the last several months/quarters, inhibits our ability to make positive change and stay focused on value creation. Addressing the noise by itself is damaging; hundreds of hours of my own time has gone into this recently," Sikka wrote in his letter.
Last week, Nandan Nilekani appointed as the chairman of the Infosys. Nilekani, 62, was also the CEO of the company between 2002 and 2007.
