Hours after the shocking 2G spectrum judgement, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today said the case was sabotaged by insiders and the government should immediately appeal in the high court against acquittal of all the accused. A special CBI court earlier in the day acquitted all 18 accused in high-profile 2G scam case. Swamy was one of the petitioners on whose plea a CBI probe was ordered in the case. The BJP leader, who is also a lawyer by profession, said: "O P Saini's judgement is a very bad judgement. It has to be appealed. Such things happened in course of law that is why we three tiers of courts."
Swamy further said that in today's judgement, Judge Saini states that the CBI and ED counsels were lackadaisical and they were not serious and the judge couldn't figure out what the prosecutors wanted to prove. "This is a very big condemnation of the government conducting of the case," Subramanian Swamy said. "Not only that, Judge Saini in the verdict says that in the begining there was lot of enthusiasm, but over a period of time it got worse and worse," Subramanian added.
