Murder 3 fails to fire up the box office

Murder 3's box office collections failed to match the performance of the earlier Murder franchises. Murder 3 earned about Rs 17 crore in its first week at the domestic box office and is expected to do a business of over Rs 20 crore.

In comparison, Murder 2 was one of the Bollywood biggest hits of 2011.

Murder 3 had opened to a lukewarm response and its box-office performance failed to pick up. Surprisingly, its single-screen performance was slightly better than in multiplexes.

Murder 3, released on February 15, 2013 features Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sara Loren.
