Google has released the source code for
Android 4.1, called
Jelly Bean, Jean-Baptiste M. "JBQ" Queru, technical lead of Android Open Source Project, Google, said in a company blog post.
"We recommend that you create new clients, even if you're working in the master branch," Queru said.
"It'll make your clients smaller and faster to sync. Proprietary binaries are available for
Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus. Nexus S and Xoom will follow," he said in the same blog post.
Android 4.1 was unveiled last month by Google and features a more responsive user interface, among other things.
Google says that
Android 4.1 makes the Android device even more responsive by boosting the device's CPU instantly when the screen is touched and turns it down when you don't need it to improve battery life.
With Jelly Bean, it will become easier to personalize the home screen. On Jelly Bean you can now easily share your photos and videos more easily. It also lets you search the web with your voice.
