Samsung will offer user interface on its smartphones and tablets in nine Indian languages from Tuesday (August 13). The user interface on Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Tab 3 will be supported in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. All these languages will also be available on the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Star later this month.

Content in all the nine languages will also be accessible at the Samsung App Store. Apps such as Bharat Matrimony, Ganesh speak, India Property, Times of India, BSE and Mydala, etc. will soon be available in these languages too. Users will be able to chat on social networking clients such as Chaton, Facebook, Gmail and Newshunt in any of these languages.

"Availability of content combined with easy access is the key driver for usage of any language," says Vineet Taneja, Country Head, Samsung Mobile and IT, Samsung India. "We sense a need and a demand amongst users to communicate in local languages using their mobile devices."
