Panic and chaos gripped Sydney’s Bondi Beach after a Jewish Hanukkah gathering descended into terror. What began as a festive celebration turned into a nightmare when gunfire erupted among thousands of revellers, triggering a deadly stampede. Witnesses reported dozens of shots as heavily armed terrorists opened fire, forcing people to flee for cover. Australian police confirmed multiple deaths from gunshot wounds and officially declared the incident a terror attack. Among the dead was one of the attackers, Naveed Akram, while dozens sustained injuries. Dramatic visuals showed a courageous bystander confronting and disarming the terrorist. Two suspects have been taken into custody. Police also discovered a vehicle rigged with explosives near the site, prompting bomb squads to secure the area. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese convened an emergency national security meeting. Israel criticised Australia, alleging ignored intelligence warnings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack, reaffirming zero tolerance for terrorism. Bondi Beach remains sealed as Australia searches for answers.
