Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Anuradha Thakur highlighted India’s macroeconomic stability and the return of private investment as key drivers of growth. She said the Centre’s fiscal deficit has declined, inflation has remained anchored, bank NPAs are at multi-decadal lows and foreign exchange reserves remain strong. Thakur also highlighted India’s reform journey, including GST, the bankruptcy code, banking reforms and measures to improve ease of doing business. She pointed to the government’s sustained focus on public capital expenditure, which she said helps de-risk long-gestation projects and attract private capital. Thakur said investment is now once again leading growth, with capital formation recording its fastest pace in over three years.
