“PM Modi Is Architect Of Economic Policy”: CEA V. Anantha Nageswaran On India’s Growth Journey

Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran spoke exclusively to India Today’s Gaurav Sawant about India’s economic journey, reforms, growth and the road to Viksit Bharat 2047. Nageswaran described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “architect of economic policy” and highlighted reforms including GST, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, financial inclusion and infrastructure investment. He also discussed India’s 7.8% Q1 GDP growth, private investment, employment, rural incomes and manufacturing. Nageswaran said global uncertainty and competition from China remain challenges, while private-sector capital formation is beginning to rise. He also outlined government measures on jobs, free trade agreements, deregulation and MSME credit.
