Tata Consultancy Services ranked as top employer in Europe

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the IT services, consulting and business solutions company of Tata conglomerate, has been for the third consecutive year named the top employer in Europe by the Top Employers Institute.

"TCS has been able to prove that they focus on the employee work experience and have a highly consistent application of HR policy practice and alignment across all countries. Apart from Europe, TCS is also a recognised as a top employer in Latin America and North America," said David Plink, chief executive officer, Top Employers Institute, said on Monday

The IT major was ranked the overall number one in a process that assessed 688 organisations across Europe.

"TCS is the IT services market leader in customer satisfaction in Europe. We believe that the main driver of satisfaction is our extremely talented workforce of 318,000 global professionals, and our relentless focus on hiring and retaining the best talent across Europe will continue," Ajoy Mukherjee, executive vice president and global head, human resources, TCS, said.

The IT company was in news recently for laying off 1,000 employees for non-performance, leading to widespread criticism and anxiety about its strategy. However, CEO N Chandrasekaran put speculations to rest last month, saying the company plans to stick to its hiring target of 35,000 from campuses for FY16.
