Sony Xperia Z launched in Indian market for Rs 38,990

Priced at Rs 38,990, Sony Mobile on Wednesday launched the Xperia Z in the Indian market. The smartphone was announced by the company at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas .

Touted to be the best smartphone ever from Sony, the Xperia Z has a dust and water resistant casing. The phone boasts of a shatter proof glass, a 5-inch HD retina display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2. It has a 13 MP camera with Exmor RS for mobile, HDR video and superior auto mode onboard.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by Snapdragon S4 1.5Ghz Quad core processor and has a 2GB RAM onboard.

The Xperia Z will be available in the market from March 12.
