WhatsApp will no longer allow Android users to take screenshots of profile pictures 

Taking screenshots of profile pictures of your contacts will not be allowed anymore. In a bid to enhance users' safety, WhatsApp is blocking Android users from taking screenshots of profile pictures of other users. However, the iPhone can still take screenshots of profile pictures. Even though people have the option of hiding their profile pictures from the contacts they have not saved, the new move by WhatsApp will stop people from misusing the pictures of other people.

According to a report by Android Police, WhatsApp has been seen working on a new feature in February 2024 Even though Meta hasn't said anything about it officially, they seem to be testing it a lot. We at India Today Tech tried taking a screenshot of a profile picture using an Android phone but could not do so despite several attempts. As soon as we attempted clicking a picture, we received a notification on our Android phone saying that it is not allowed. However, we were still able to take the screenshot on our iPhone.Notably, the feature is switched on by default, you cannot manually turn on the feature or switch it off. You will not be able to take the screenshot even if you have not updated your WhatsApp.

WhatsApp has not officially informed users about the new development.

--Open WhatsApp.
--Tap on the Settings tab in the bottom right corner.
--Select Privacy.
--Tap on Profile Picture.
--Choose "My Contacts Except...".
--Select the contacts you want to hide your profile picture from.
--Tap Done in the top right corner.

If you want to hide your profile picture from everyone, including those not in your contact list, follow these steps:

--Open WhatsApp.
--Tap on the Settings tab.
--Go to Privacy.
--Select Profile Picture.
--Choose the option "Nobody".
