Govt hikes FDI limit in insurance to 49 per cent
The government has hiked foreign direct investment limit in the insurance sector to 49 per cent from the existing 26 per cent.

India will hike foreign direct investment limit in the insurance sector to 49 per cent from the existing 26 per cent, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said on Tuesday.
The decision was taken during a meeting of senior cabinet ministers chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
