Barfi tastes sweet success at box office

"Barfi!" made a strong debut on the box office , netting around Rs 34 crore over the weekend as per early estimates.

"Barfi!", produced under the UTV Motion Pictures banner, was released on around 1,300 screens. "Barfi" made a strong opening on Friday and the attendances at the multiplexes improved over the weekend.

"Barfi!", starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D'Cruz in lead roles, can be one of the biggest hits of Ranbir Kapoor. "Barfi!" edged past Ranbir Kapoor's earlier hit "Raajneeti" in opening weekend collections. "Raajneeti" made about Rs 33 crore in the opening weekend.

Directed by Anurag Basu, "Barfi!" has generally got positive reviews and is expected to do well over the weekdays too.
