Cracking down on a suspected case of corporate espionage, the Delhi police had on Thursday arrested two Oil Ministry officials, one RIL staffer and two other middlemen, for allegedly leaking classified government documents to energy companies for money. Shares of Reliance Industries (RIL) on Friday witnessed selling pressure, falling over three per cent, after Delhi Police on Thursday arrested a RIL staffer in connection with the leaking of classified documents from the Petroleum Ministry.
The stock fell 3.23 per cent to Rs 872.20 in morning trade on the BSE. At the NSE, it fell by 3.4 per cent to Rs 871.30. The scrip was the biggest loser among the bluechips on both Sensex and Nifty.
