With Kinect, it's time to move

Finally the wait is over. Microsoft's Kinect, the sensor for the Xbox 360 console that detects body movement to control gameplay, has finally landed on Indian shores and it looks impressive.

We had a hands-on experience with the device and it handled our body as the controller very well. Yes, that is the USP of this three-eyed machine. The player's body is the controller.

Kinect has three cameras that capture every move the player makes and translate that to initiate action on screen.

It is compatible with both old and new Xbox 360s. Connecting the older versions to the device require an additional power cable, but the new ones draw the power from the console itself.

Kinect alone is priced at Rs 9,990, while the 4GB Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle comes for Rs 22,990. A little steep, but worth it.

Microsoft has launched 11 additional game titles for the Kinect.
