A Reliance Lyf smartphones, that was launched as a carrier tothe Jio Sim, has reportedly caught fire. The device is being sold by Reliance Retail, was launched along with the new Jio network.

A man named Tanvir Sadiq reported the explosion on a socialmedia website saying,  "My familyhad a narrow escape today after @reliancejios @Reliance_LYF phone exploded& burst into flames."

He further added, "All those people who have this @Reliance_LYFphone need to be very cautious and careful @reliancejio,"

Reliance Lyf responded to the post saying, "sorry forthe inconvenience caused. Kindly DM us your contact details to assist you atthe earliest." They added, "we are investigating on this. We will getback to you with further updates."

The company is a recent player in the 4G smartphones arenabut has still managed to acquire eight per cent of the market share becomingthe fourth best selling 4G smartphone brand. The maximum number of devices weresold when the company was giving out Reliance Jio connections only via Lyfdevices.

A few months back Samsung had to make the biggest recall in the history of the smartphones and eventually halting the Note 7 model. The company faced numerous allegations of exploding phones across all the countries it had launched a device in.
