Mahindra & Mahindra and Bajaj Auto reported strong September sales, signalling improving momentum across India’s auto sector. M&M posted a 15% rise in sales, with SUV volumes reaching 62,092 units, while Bajaj Auto recorded 5% year-on-year growth and a 32% jump in exports. Gaurang Shah, Sr. VP, Geojit Investments, remains positive on the auto sector, highlighting steady domestic demand, rising exports and the potential impact of FTAs and BTAs. He also points to global automakers returning to India and restarting operations. The discussion explores whether stronger sales can sustain optimism across four-wheelers and two-wheelers.
