Leaders in solar technologies are some of the South-East Asian nations with China in the forefront, and the US. India trails way behind, adopting only those technologies it can afford after other countries have perfected them.
Laxmi Narasimhan of Shell Technology Centre explains to Business Today about a technology called IH Square, which can convert most types of waste directly into hydrocarbons, and adds that once it comes into the market, it has the potential to reduce India's hydrocarbon imports.
