iPhone 5 may have a smaller dock

Apple's next iPhone, expected to be dubbed iPhone 5 , is likely to be launched in the last quarter of this year. And speculations about iPhone 5's features and other details are increasing day by day.

Reuters in a report said that the new iPhone 5's dock connector port will be smaller, citing sources familiar with the matter. The iPhone's current 30-pin port is expected to come down to a 19-pin connector. This could make room on the bottom of iPhone 5 for more connectors.

A few days back, The Wall Street Journal reported that iPhone 5 will have a slimmer screen than the current 4S model, citing people familiar with the matter. A slimmer screen, made possible by the use of in-cell technology, could help in reducing the weight of iPhone 5, besides enabling Apple to make extra room available for other components.
