Coal India Q2 net up 19% to Rs 3,078 cr

Coal India Ltd on Friday reported a 18.7 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,078.08 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

The state-owned coal major had posted a net profit of Rs 2,593.11 crore in the same period of last fiscal.

Net sales were up by 10 per cent at Rs 14,572.54 crore during the period.

Interest income during the reported quarter rose to Rs 2,092.85 crore as against Rs 1,786 crore in the year-ago period.

Production was higher by 11 per cent to 89.09 million tonnes during the quarter. .
