Kingfisher Airlines has entered into fresh trouble. The government has initiated legal action against the Vijay Mallya-owned carrier "towards dishonour of the cheques submitted" by it.

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said on Wednesday said all but two major airlines in India have defaulted on paying airport charges. These are IndiGo, the only profitable airline in the country, and privately-held Go Air, he wrote in a reply to the Lok Sabha.

Shares of Kingfisher Airlines ended the day's trade down 4.76 per cent at Rs 14 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
