Chandigarh suspends Uber, Rapido licences for 6 months for failing to comply with rules

The State Transport Authority (STA), Chandigarh, has suspended the aggregator licences of Uber and Rapido for six months for failing to comply with rules under the Chandigarh Aggregator Policy, 2025.

The administration issued the order on Tuesday after both companies failed to provide the required documents or give a satisfactory response to repeated compliance notices. According to the administration's order, several notices were sent to Uber and Rapido regarding compliance with the policy.

However, the companies did not provide the necessary documents or submit a satisfactory response, leading the STA to suspend their licences.

The suspension will remain in effect for six months.
