Yash Raj Film's latest offering Dum Laga Ke Haisha is getting praises from all corners. The film is appreciated by critics as well as audiences and the box office collection of the film is increasing due to word of mouth. The film is doing well considering the fact that it was released in very less screens.
The film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and debutant Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, has collected Rs.6.08 crore in opening weekend. The film opened to a poor response and managed to earn Rs.1.11 crore on Friday but due to word of mouth the business on Saturday and Sunday was almost double. The movie garnered Rs.2.12 crore on Saturday and Rs.2.85 crore on Sunday.
Dum Laga Ke Haisha has opened in just 775 screens and the negligible promotions also led to low occupancy on Friday but the film is performing better now and is expected to do better in coming days.
Directed by Sharat Katariya, the film is about the journey of a couple who get married under family pressure and shows how they move on from finding faults in physical appearances and find love.
Ayushmann plays Prem Prakash Tiwari who dreams of marrying a beautiful and slim bride but his parents force him to tie the knot with Sandhya, a 22-year-old overweight woman. The movie is all about how their unlikely union culminates into a successful marriage.
The film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Alka Amin, Seema Pahwa.
