Coca Cola posts 8% volume growth in India in Q1, 2013

Beverages major Coca Cola Company on Tuesday said its sales in India increased 8 per cent in the first quarter of 2013.
The US-based company, which announced its global earnings for the first quarter, said brand Coca Cola grew by 30 per cent in India during the first quarter.
India remains among the top growth market for the Atlanta-based firm. Other major growth markets are Thailand with 18 per cent growth, Russia 8 per cent growth, Mexico 3 per cent and Brazil 3 per cent.
"India sparkling beverage volume growth in the quarter was led by brand Coca-Cola, up 30 per cent, and driven by strong integrated marketing campaigns and continued expansion of packaging choices to consumers," the company said in a statement.
This marks Coca-Cola India's 27th consecutive quarter of growth, 19 of which are double-digit, Coca-Cola India said in a statement.
The company reported worldwide volume growth of 4 percent for the first quarter of 2013, with 3 per cent growth in Coca-Cola Americas and 5 per cent growth in Coca-Cola International.
